My turn: I am thankful that Connie and Linda live here. I am included on their activities--swimming, biking, and socializing. Connie often cooks vegeterian meals for us which are varied and very tasty. Do you think we should eat more veggies and less meat because meat uses up lots of grain and water?
The pictures from Lake Geneva are great, both indoors and outdoors--an unforgettable time. Linda and I went to a festival at the home town of Patricia Mitchell (who was with us at Geneva.) Her family has had a food booth there with cat fish and chicken for 16 years, a jolly affair for the whole town.
I note we talk a lot about food. I'm glad for the nourishment of our minds and spirits which God sends our way (even at festivals like Patricia's where we felt the wonderful unity of family and neighbors. ) Love to each and all. Ensign
I think I'm more conscious of food because I'm working on a veggie farm 2 days a week and it's fun to see what is harvested. I get a weekly box... and I think at least Pat will be interested! hmmm cat fish sounds good. AND Connie's cooking!
ReplyDeleteI for one am a big fan of meat. It tastes delicious and is a good source of protein. I am aware that it does waste energy though. If I am ever stranded on a desert island with chickens and grain, I will eat the chickens first and then the grain, because then most of the energy from the food goes to me.
ReplyDeleteI like your answer, Karl! As for me, I agree with vegetarian reasoning, but I still like to eat meat and I think I feel better sometimes when I do. I have been mostly vegetarian just lately, but mainly because meat is more expensive than pinto beans or lentils.
ReplyDeleteSteve.
Steve, I remember eating a whole bowl of lentil soup as a kid when I was invited for dinner at your house. That was the only time I ever ate them. After all, this was my Pastor's house, I couldn't refuse the meal that had been given that day. Now I can't even get my son to eat fruit coctail, pizza or a hot dog! Gavin
